Search finds passages that look relevant. Quelvio writes down what your sources actually establish, and keeps track of who said it, and when.

## Read, write, relate, answer, trace.

  1. 1.
Read: Documents and agent sessions, one sentence at a time.
  2. 2.
Write facts: Each fact keeps the sentence it came from, who it belongs to, and when it was stated and holds from.
  3. 3.
Relate: Facts that agree or disagree are linked, and each keeps its history in time order. Facts are grouped by topic and entity.
  4. 4.
Answer: Answers quote the facts they rest on, or decline when the sources don’t settle the question.
  5. 5.
Trace: Every step is recorded. Open a reading or an answer and replay how it was built.

## Every fact keeps its source.

One sentence from an approved policy becomes one fact, with the four parts that make it checkable.

  1. 1.
The sentence: quoted, with its document and line.
  2. 2.
Who it belongs to: the person, team or party it comes from.
  3. 3.
When: the date it was stated, and the date it holds from.
  4. 4.
How it relates: the facts it agrees with, disagrees with, or came after.

## Every step can be replayed.

The trace of a decline: the question, the facts found, the sources checked, what the sources cover, and the decision.

## Watch it happen.

The Lab is where you see Quelvio work on your own repositories.

  1. -
Repositories: what each one holds, and who can read it.
  2. -
A reading you can watch: documents becoming facts, sentence by sentence.
  3. -
The graph: facts connecting as they agree, disagree or follow one another.
  4. -
The trace viewer: press play on any reading or answer.
  5. -
Memory: what each agent remembers, and its stewards’ decisions.
  6. -
Topics and entities: everything known about one thing, in one place.

## Retrieval finds text. Quelvio keeps facts.

  1. -
Retrieval: Returns passages that look relevant. Quelvio: Returns facts, each with its source sentence.
  2. -
Retrieval: The newest or most similar text wins. Quelvio: Who said it, and when, is kept with each fact.
  3. -
Retrieval: Always produces an answer. Quelvio: Declines when the sources don’t settle it.
  4. -
Retrieval: Hard to audit afterwards. Quelvio: Every step can be replayed.
